Recently hypoid gear tooth form can be measured with reference to the kinematical surface defined by cutting machine settings. But in most of the cases hypoid gears are still being checked by tooth contact pattern using the master gears. For the straight bevel gears, whose geometric surface is hard to define, situations are the same. In this report the method of creating coordinate data of the existing master tooth are proposed. And the example of bevel gear tooth form measurement reference to it introduced.
