Low-cost and multi-functional automation technologies are still indispensable to the industry today for enhancement of cost competitiveness. This study shed light on the human advantages in production environment : dexterity and flexibility with which the human performs most complicated and difficult tasks. This gives a clue to a new approach to automation. This paper mainly concerns a worker's characteristics of visual information with assembling parts. First, to solve the problem of a general automation line, NAGARA assembly system learning from human's performance is newly proposed. Then, the characteristic of human's assembly operation is analyzed as the first step to construct the low-cost NAGARA production system.
