With the aim of reducing the lead times for the design and manufacturing of products produced upon receipt of order, we have constructed an Automatic Design/Manufacturing Support System with the following unique functions. The System performs the functions of automatic design based on various parameters inputted by a designer, creating the necessary drawings and forms automatically and transfers these to a manufacturing plant thus notifying the person in charge of production management. We have constructed an automatic design system incorporating these functions as a Web application type three-tier system applied with Web technologies.
