抄録
In this paper, the authors discuss on the semantic structure of artificial environment, which often gives mental stresses to the inhabitants. The authors point out that the artificial environment has a different semantic space from the natural environment. From the viewpoint of humanness, the artificial environment should allow unpredictable and/or unexpected elements in it. Some current examples of environmental design are introduced for discussing on this problem.
