In this paper, we proposed a regularization technique for boundary tracking type level-set topology optimization. This new regularization technique is based on the double-well potential and it realizes smooth convergence in boundary tracking type level-set topology optimization. Because of this regularization technique, boundary tracking type level-set topology optimization is well incorporated with the mathematical programming framework. The usefulness of the proposed regularization technique is demonstrated by solving two numerical examples.
