Abstract
This paper describes the concept and development progress of an operator training system based on Man Machine Simulator (MMS) developed by CRIEPI, which simulates the behavior of an operating team under abnormal operating conditions at a plant. This training system shows how an operating team under abnormal operating conditions behaves as results of computer simulation of them. This system uses 3D computer graphics to present the behavior of the simulated team and the control panels. This system uses Boston Dynamics Inc.'s PeopleShop in order to describe the 3D images of operators' behavior. On the 3D CG control panels, indications of gauges are changeable and lights of alarms go on and out, reflecting the simulated plant behavior.
