In this study, we aim to development of heat driven type water chiller using metal hydride (briefly, MH). Heat driven type MH water chiller is one of the chemical heat pumps, and the endothermic reaction of low temperature side MH is used to the water chilling. Nowadays, because MH is expensive as 2〜30,000 yen per lkg, and the cooling load per 1kg MH is low , heat driven type MH water chiller is not used generally. For the cost-cutting of this system, we use a low price TiFe alloy, which is manufactured by co-researcher, to heat source side MH. Moreover, in order to improve the cooling load per MH mass, we mix the brush type carbon fiber. 2 mass% into MH beds. By this method, the cooling load per MH mass can be increased to 0.078 kW/kg(MH).
