For the development of industrial high temperature heat pump systems, experiments were carried out on cooling heat transfer of supercritical pressure fluids flowing in a plate type heat exchanger. Measured heat transfer coefficients showed seven- to nine-fold compared with the Dittus-Boelter correlation for tube flow. Based on the measurements, characteristics of cooling heat transfer of supercritical pressure fluids were clarified, and correlations of heat transfer coefficient were developed.
