The oil heater and the steam heater heat the room air by natural convection principally. And the general air conditioner controls the room temperature by the forced convection. In these days the air conditioners by not only natural convection but also radiation heat transfer have been developed and put to practical use. Since the natural convection and the radiation heat transfer do not produce the air flow, these methods are better for comfort than the forced convection. The radiators of these kinds of air conditioner are composed of the steel plates which includes the flow channels in its own body. The finned tube made of aluminum is proposed as a new type of component for the radiator plate by Kenko Corp. in Nagasaki. The temperature profiles at the surface of radiator, of the room air and by the globe thermometer have been measured during the heater operation, and then the characteristics of radiator have been analyzed.
