In Japan the small forestry area is destructed because most of forest areas are neglected due to the slump of the wood price and the shortage of labor. Presently, forest maintenance will be promoted by utilization of unutilized woody biomass. In this study, we focus on heat utilization of woody biomass as log fuel because of the simple and low-cost. We examined a method to dry cedar's log for fuel use. Experimental results show that wind can be considered as an important factor for drying.
