In the present research, heat transfer characteristics of a micro-channel were experimentally investigated. The size of the micro-channel used in this study was 52.9 mm in inner diameter and about 30 mm in length. This channel was made of stainless steel and water was used as a test liquid. The experiment was performed in the range of Re = 120〜260. Special attention was paid to reduce heat loss from the micro-channel system to the surroundings and to attain good accuracy in this experiment. The experimental results of Nusselt number obtained for the micro-channel were obviously smaller than those for conventional size tubes. It was also confirmed that Nusselt number was decreased for decreasing Reynolds number. This experimental result indicate that special thermo-fluid phenomena concerning with the micro-channel appears in this experimental condition.
