Geological storage of carbon dioxide (CO_2) has been investigated as an option for reducing the concentration of CO_2 into the atmosphere. When the possibility of geological storage technique is discussed, it is important to estimate the total amount of stored CO_2. And it required information about the thermophysical properties, such as solubility. Measurement of the solubility of CO_2 in pure water has been studied, whereas that in solutions that include an electrolyte such as sodium chloride (NaCl) has not. In this study, to determine the CO_2 storage capacity at saline aquifers, we measured the solubility of CO_2 in NaCl solution. Based on the results, we determined a prediction equation for the solubility as a function of temperature, pressure, and salinity.
