Abstract
Passive force displays can be useful for haptic devices in the fields of rehabilitation and sports training, because they are safe for humanusers. Haptic devices with passive laminated elements are also safe and light. However, there are several drawbacks as difficulty of controlling air pressure and lack of degrees of freedom to be handled. In this paper, we introduce a binary control method and a method for multi-dimensional force displays for haptic devices with passive laminated elements.
