We have developed a liquid packaging machine which produces liquid packaging bags of the soy sauce and Chinese noodles soup etc. In the packaging process, a continuous film supplied by a web roll is sealed and cut by servo-motor driven rotary tools to form small bags. In this process, accuracy of the products is determined by the synchronized motion control of the rotary tools and film feed. In order to clarify the influence of the film feed error to the control system, the film feed rate was measured precisely. The results show that there is close relationship between the film feed error and the size of packaging bags.
