In this paper, we propose a novel design of a motor composed of a crown reducer and linear actuators. The features of crown reducer which is proposed by the authors are low backlash, high reduction ratio, and advantage in miniaturizing. Three magnetic solenoids push the back of the rotor gear sequentially then the output shaft rotates like a stepping motor. The prototype of the motor works successfully. Based on the investigation of the tilt angle of the rotor gear which is a factor of vibration and energy loss of this motor, we found that the proposed motor mechanism had an advantage in reducing the tilt angle compared to a similar competitive mechanism.
