Abstract
The elderly and disabilities who cannot clean their teeth by themselves are brushed and cleaned by a home visiting dentist or care personnel to keep the oral health. However, the load for the treatment is so much and self-oral cleaning is more desirable even for the elderly and disabilities. This study, thus aims to develop an assist robot for the brushing of teeth for the elderly and disabilities. Two types of the assist robot are developed and evaluated on the performance of the cleaning of teeth. A method for the evaluation of the cleaning performance for the assist robot is also discussed and proposed.
