Body-propulsion that moves by using only the body like the snake can be moved in the weak ground and a narrow environment. It is expected that body-propulsion robot can adjust to various environments as disaster relief and research robot. Purpose of this study is to produce the snake type robot that can move the snow and ice environment. The movement method imitated sidewinding that the snake living in desert does. The robot moves by the wave which is made from the combination of two waves. The outcome of an experiment shows the robot could move on compressed snow surface as same as flat floor. But the robot could not move straight on new snow surface.
