The lake water pollution is a problem in recent years. To elucidate the mechanism of water pollution, water quality monitoring is important. A measurement system to provide water quality information is proposed. This device is equipped with a sensor system, measurements performed by floating on the lake. This system has to be inexpensive to use a large number of devices, and it is necessary for operation to be simple. This device transmits water temperature and positional information using Android device. Power of this measurement system is supplied from solar cells and this device realizes energy self-reliance. In this paper, overview of the proposed environmental monitoring system is described. Then, experiment of self-reliance by the solar cells shows validity of the proposed system.
