This paper presents a motivation model of interaction between an infant and caregiver in which relatedness, one of the most important basic psychological needs, is modeled as avariable that increases with emotion sharing experience. The proposed model is implemented in an artificial agent with a simple facial recognition system and a gesture recognition system. The baby-like agent successfully interacts with actual human and shows a reaction like "still-face paradigm".
