Abstract
The difference between life expectancy and healthy-life years, around 10 years, is social problem in Japan. In the difference of years, people with the limitation of life activities have to require medical treatments and nursing cares for living. Physical exercise is one of the most effective methods for improving the potential of life activities. This study focused on a rowing motion for whole-body exercise and developed an intelligent supervisor system for physical exercise "RoboCox," named after robotic cox. The system consisted of rowing machine and Kinect and helped beginners rapidly learn the appropriate movement of rowing.
