Abstract
We present a musculoskeletal motion analysis system to measure articulated thumb motion of cadaver specimens. The result of the preliminary experiment clearly demonstrated that the excursion of the flexor pollicis longus (FPL) muscle for flexion motion was about 45mm, and the FPL only induce 2 dimensional flexion motion of thumb within a palmar plane.
