Abstract
We previously developed a simplified resistance training system for recovery of motor function of the upper limb after stroke in patients with hemiplegia. In this paper we proposed the modified training system (URSystem : Useful and Ultimate Rehabilitation System) to improve motor function of the hemiplegic upper limb, especially to facilitate elbow extension. Moreover, we developed a measurement system of the forces which the patient's upper arm receives from the URSystem to investigate the recovery mechanism. In a clinical setting, we verified that a synergic movement was reduced by repeated training with the URSystem.
