Abstract

Electric ship attracted attention in ship industry because it has a merit of improving manueverability. In early study, 4-axis electric propulsion ship has proposed which recognized to improves ship motion control. 4-axis electric propulsion ship can control surge and yaw and roll suppression at the same time. however accurate thrust control is required. In this paper, linear approximation propeller thrust observer and thrust control is proposed and verified by simulation. Result of simulations suggest that proposed method can accurately estimate propeller thrust.
