This paper presents a flight control design and experiment of the so-called UEC-UAV I (Unique, Exciting, Challenging Unmanned Aerial Vehicle developed in UEC (The University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan)) that is a kind of flying-wing unmanned aerial vehicles. A flight control system for a trimmed equilibrium of the UEC-UAV I is designed with proportional-and-derivative controllers for velocity, altitude and flight direction. Flight experimental results show that the designed controllers realize stable flight in practice.
