Abstract

As one of application for cyclo gear reducer, we design a new type of continuous variable transmission. For an epitrochoid curve of a planetary gear, we define a decimal gear ratio. With respect to the planetary gear where the decimal gear ratio is applied, the start and end points in epitrochoid curve are connected smoothly using an interpolation curve. Using the proposed gear, a new type of continuous transmission planetary gear can be realized. As a means of a fixed planetary gear applied into cyclo gear reducer, a drum for sliding outer pin teeth is designed.
