Abstract

Jump rope is widely adopted as sporting and training goods because of its high exercise efficiency. Recently, the competition of jump rope has been spreading all over the world, however, the risk of injury occurred in a competition has been increasing. Also, the scientific evidence has never discussed regarding the basic motion necessary to keep jumping the rope. Furthermore, few studies focused on the principles of jump rope motion in order to reduce the risk of injury, where the causes of ligament rupture, shin splints and shoulder ache were discussed. Thereby, this study extracts the behavioral features of upper limbs by using the result of independent principal component analysis applied to the time-series of the joint motion of upper limbs.
