Abstract

This paper proposes a method to measure mechanical properties of cell on a microfluidic chip. In our previous researches, we developed a measurement device having high measurement accuracy. However, there remained some problems on the analysis of mechanical properties of cell. Previous studies applied a stereotypical method of modelbased analysis to the experimental data. As a result, the model could not evaluate characteristics of cell in detail. In this research, we added some detail explanations on the measurement data to clarify the meaning of mechanical properties. We assigned the mechanical models of cell with respect to the compressed state of cells, and applied physical explanation respectively. Using these techniques, we made it possible to recognize the meaning of measurement data more clearly. This study is a fundamental to be extended for measuring some other mechanical properties of cell.
