初心者向けロボット教材「おむすび」の開発と実践

Recently, it is pointed out that significance of STEM education from young people grows higher. Since 2003, I have been holding the Iwate University Robot Contest in various parts of Iwate Prefecture. Though Robot Contest has many good effects on education or events, there are some burdens about its cost and its time management. Therefore, I developed a new robot teaching material called OMSB (O-type Mechanical system with a Sensor for Beginners) in 2005, that is low price and can be made in a short time, and have conducted over 40 robot classes against over 1000 people for 12 years. Here, concepts, development of OMSB, robot class and its effectiveness are reported.
