Abstract

This paper shows practice of a model based development (MBD) education for engineers engaged in automotive industries, and discusses effectiveness of the education. Although diversity and complexity of products have been increasing over the years, it is required to develop them with limited resources and short term to respond to various users’ demands quickly. The MBD that utilizes computer simulation for analyzing and designing a system is one of efficient development methods. The MBD is proceeded according to a V-Type development process. In last year, authors proposed a learning program that can experimentally learn the V-type development process by using a motor control system, and practiced the program to 159 engineers in Mazda Motor Corporation. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed MBD program, several self-reviews were imposed to the engineers. From these results, high evaluation effects were recognized.
