Abstract

Skin condition is evaluated in various research and industrial fields, such as cosmetics and medicine. Therefore, the effective sensing of the condition has been expected. In this study, we examined usefulness of “wearable skin vibration sensor”, which detects the vibration signals via finger, for the purpose of skin condition evaluation. Since skin condition is greatly varied with age, the change of condition due to age was evaluated using the sensor. As a result of the analysis of wave signals acquired with the sensor, the signal features were closely related with age group. This result shows the sensor is a useful and effective tool for evaluating skin condition, and expected to apply in cosmetics and other fields.
