This paper reports a device to measure neural firing during mechanical stretching. We have already reported that mechanical stimulation enhance neurite outgrowth. We designed stretchable electrode chamber to measure the neural action potential of this phenomena in real time. A stretchable polymer sheet was strained 10 % and coated with Parylene. Then we printed an electrode pattern with Ni and Au. The sheet has wrinkles overall, but no cracks were observed. When the chamber stretched, wrinkles extended instead of metal. Therefore, this electrode prevented cracks during stretching. We will measure neural action potential during stretching in the future.
