In this paper, we propose a toxicity testing system using a device composed of cardiomyocytes adhered on micropillars. In this system, the toxicity was evaluated from the contraction force of the cardiomyocytes and the heart rate. The test was carried out in a medium in which the evaluation substance was dissolved and it was observed with a microscope. Rat cardiomyocytes from one-day-old were used for the test. As a substance to be evaluated, HCFC-22 which was a kind of fluorocarbon was used. As a result of the test, it indicates to suggest the possibility of toxicity evaluation by contractile force of cardiomyocytes.
