Abstract

Recently, welfare vehicles are widely used among the elderly and the aged. However, it is not easy for inexperienced beginners to control the welfare vehicle in narrow places such as elevators and narrow corridors. For the problem, the driving assistance system for the welfare vehicle is proposed, which is maneuverable by the virtual platoon control technique using Augmented Reality (AR). However, the measurement devices of eye movement had not been developed for AR. In this paper, new devices to measure the eye movement directly in Augmented Reality is prototyped using the corneal reflection. The effectiveness is evaluated by experiments of the driving assistance system for the welfare vehicle.
