Knee supporters are used for prevention of sports disorder, reduction of pain and load on the knee joint. The knee joint orthosis is classified into two types, a knee joint rigid orthosis and a knee joint flexible orthosis. However, studies on quantitative verification of knee joint rigid orthosis such as knee brace have been reported, but there is little research on quantitative verification of knee joint flexible orthosis such as knee supporters. By quantitatively evaluating the knee supporter effect, development of a new knee supporter based on scientific evidence can be expected. In this study, we examine the influence of knee supporter on knee joint angle during running motion using three-dimensional motion analysis and quantitatively verified the kinematic influence of knee supporter on knee joint. From the results, the knee supporter has the effect of helping the flexion of the knee.
