This paper presents a measurement scheme to evaluate overhand pass skills in volleyball with measuring fingertip forces during the performance. Our measurement results show that an expert player can repeatedly perform similar fingertip forces in playing overhand pass and succeed to put a ball on the target. In contrast a beginner player cannot perform stable contacts with a ball and applied forces to the ball from their fingers are varied in several trials, and it leads failures of targeting. The measurement results of fingertip forces also shows each individual trend of performance, for example a force balance between both hands.
