Development of parking assistance system using an omnidirectional past still image

Abstract

The parking support systems are developed that driver can parking in a garage and parallel parking of relief and security. Recently, the system is implemented called Around View Monitor that can grasp at around the car.

In this paper, we describe a parking assist guidance system, which is based on our developed system using an omnidirectional past image. This system provides a third person view, by superimposing a car 3DCG on an omnidirectional image. I compared my method with Back Monitor and Around View Monitor at experiment. The result of parking experiment, I confirmed from survey that there are problem in my system and the point that is better than other systems.
