In this paper, we investigated the arrangement of a tactile sensor for detecting propagated vibration. We compared a sensor in which a PVDF film was wrapped on a rod with an acceleration sensor attached on a rod. Experimental results showed that the variation in sensor output for stimulation given at deifferent positions of a rod was smaller in the wrapped type PVDF sensor than in the acceleration sensor.
