In general, it is said that metallic materials and electrical components cannot be used together with magnetoencephalography (MEG) because MEG measurement is quite susceptible to fluctuation of magnetic field. Against the common belief, this study challenged to develop haptic devices which can be used in MEG environments, aiming at allowing novel neurorehabilitation. In the present study, we especially design and developed novel actuation systems with magnetic shields and examined the applicability by actually driving it in an MEG environment.
