Abstract

A new autonomous mobile robot platform was designed and prototyped through multi-laboratory collaboration. An effective prototyping approach to be taken in robot development has something in common with “ Agile development ” approach which has received attention in recent years. This development approach has a conscious collaboration with users, through the promotion with repeating creation and evaluation in a comparatively short time interval, for much refined prototyping target in collaboration with users to accommodate changes in users’ demands. This paper presents the essential points of the platform, the robots derived from the platform, and its test run.
