In order to obtain volume information of an object moving in the field of view of a microscope like a swimming cell, high speed three dimensional measurement is required. High speed three dimensional measurement is theoretically possible by using a tunable acoustic gradient index (TAG) lens that can change the focus position at high speed. However, since the focus variation of the TAG lens is too fast, it is necessary to acquire specific focus information by using microsecond order exposure. A temporally coded exposure (TeCE) cameras can achieve microsecond exposure and solve this problem. That is, by simply combining the TeCE camera and the TAG lens, high speed three dimensional measurement can be realized. In this paper, we conducted a high-speed three-dimensional position measurement experiment of swimming cells using TeCE camera and TAG lens.
