Abstract

In this paper, we developed a plant vigor measurement robot sensor for greenhouse horticulture of tomatoes. The robot sensor climbs a rope for hanging tomato stem and measures amaunt of growth of length and diameter of tomato stem. The measurement accuracy of both values are tested in experiments. The growth of stem length could be measured within the required accuracy by the robot sensor. However, if the stem is slim, the measurement error becomes large because of the sensor resolution.
