Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a new tactile sense feedback device which can be put between a socket of a myoelectric hand and user’s arm. First, the vibratory stimulation device which is 2 mm thick using a shape memory allay actuator was developed. Second, investigation of the effects of tip shape on vibratory sensation was performed using the vibration sheet with 4 different tip shapes. As a result, among the tip shapes, the one that have the largest area showed the highest performance. In addition, investigation of the number of identifiable vibration phases from 1 Hz to 10 Hz was performed using the vibratory stimulation sheet whose tip shape is plane. As a result, the experiment showed that 3 phases are distinguishable.
