Abstract
For the permanent countermeasure of the illegal waste material dumping, excavation of high-concentration contaminated parts is carried out to a depth of 16m and the work is done in narrow places surrounded by working girders, intermediate piles and the earth support. This mechanical excavation work is carried out by placing hydraulic clamshell on the working gantry and mini-backhoe on under the gantry. At the time of work, the workers have to wear protective gear and mask to prevent inhaling toxic gas. So the work is carried out under bad condition since “Signal sounds are hard to hear, the vision becomes very narrow and the workers are difficult to move.” which increases the risk to generate serious accident by heavy equipment collision. In order to eliminate the risk, this article activity is introduced, in examining prevention measure against heavy equipment collision, three types of approaching level to the heavy equipment are considered as candidate and the detection level and the detection range are measured by demonstration experiments at the actual site. This activity is aimed at “Achieving zero-accidents against collision with heavy equipment and workers” under special construction condition by selecting and operating highly reliable system.
