Abstract

We aim to quantify contracture palpation using a wearable tactile sensor which measures the skin-propagated vibration. In this paper, we conducted a contracture evaluation experiment on elderly contracture patients, and proposed the contracture evaluation model using machine learning. The results showed that the frequency of occurrence and intensity of the frictional vibration induced during palpation could be used to evaluate the degree of contracture.
