Diabetic retinopathy is an eye disease that develops as a complication of diabetes. When a specific drug is locally administered, there is a case that the drug is directly injected under the retina. It is necessary to perform puncture behavior while suppressing damage to the retina. In the present, since young doctors has luck of chance to perform the operation, it hinders doctor education. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop a fundus model that enables surgical practice simulating the subretinal injection. The retina is a soft and weak tissue. To fabricate an artificial retina, a mechanical property was adjusted by mixing silicone rubber as the main component and plasticizers. A fundus model was prepared by laminating in a fluoro-rubber layer, as a choroid. By adjusting the diluent concentration for an well-mimicked artificial retina, we succeeded in simulating the subretinal injection task.
