Haptic-based texture exploration is used to create products in modeling software. However, conventional haptic modeling methods can only reproduce the measured texture. In this research, we synthesized the texture vibration by shaping the white noise with a parametric equalizer (PEQ). The parameters of the PEQ (fundamental frequency, bandwidth, and gain) are stored in a three-dimentional LUT(Look-ip Table) of force, velocity, and texture characteristics as roughness,... and density. By approximating these LUTs using the multidimensional least-squares method, it is possible to generate a tunable haptic texture model. In this paper, we propose a haptic synthesis system using PEQ and discuss the synthesis results in the velocity axis based on sensory tests.
