Many studies use electrical muscle stimulation as haptic feedback. There are vary electrodes used for electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) depending on the size, material, etc. However, few study quantitatively evaluate the characteristics of electrodes, and a lot of them are based on empirical facts. In this study, we focused on the resistance values of the electrodes and the human body, and evaluated the electrodes suite for EMS. As a result, we found that the electrode made of conductive rubber causes much pain and it is unlikely to be suitable as an electrode for electrical muscle stimulation. On the other hand, gel-type electrodes are suitable as electrodes for electrical muscle stimulation because they can suppress pain.
