Many of the concrete structures such as bridges, tunnels, buildings etc. in Japan are facing degradation problems recent years while the construction industry is facing a serious shortage of workers. Automated crack inspection system can alleviate this situation effectively, yet the development of a fully automated system may take time. Many studies have been proposed by using image-based crack inspection system, and some of them use Mixed Reality Head-Mounted Display (MRHMD) to visualize cracks. In this study, we developed a supporting system for crack inspection in MR space by using hand gesture input. This paper reports that we evaluated several gesture patterns to see if they’re appropriate for the system or not and observed system performance.
