Reducing the weight of a human-collaborative robot leads to improved safety and increased payload per body mass, enabling it to be used in a wider variety of industries. This study focuses on the electromagnetic motor as one of the components and aims to reduce the weight while maintaining the required average torque. This paper focuses on the rotor core of the IPMSM and uses topology optimization with NGnet to find the optimum structure. The aim is to suppress the torque ripple, which worsened in the previous study due to the weight reduction. Multi-objective optimization for mass minimization and torque ripple minimization with mean torque as a constraint resulted in a low torque ripple and lightweight structure while maintaining mean torque.
