Most virtual reality (VR) sports simulators reproduce visual and auditory senses, and few of them reproduce haptic sensations. Therefore, we focused on the catching motion of baseball and tried to add haptic sensation to VR sports. To improve the reality of the sensation of catching a ball, we proposed a device that uses a combination of brake mechanism to limit hand movement, and electric or vibration stimulation. As a result of the experiment, we were able to reproduce an impulsive force comparable to that of actual ball catching. On the other hand, no significant differences were found in the similarity between each condition and the actual ball catching.
